Group Boat Tours from Gruž Harbour, Dubrovnik

Gruž is Dubrovnik's working harbour and the easiest place to step aboard a group boat tour — close to the cruise terminal, the Lapad hotels and the main bus routes.

Gruž Harbour (Luka Gruž) is Dubrovnik's main port, about three kilometres northwest of the Old Town. It is where the cruise ships dock and where most of our group boat tours to the Blue Cave, the Elaphiti Islands and Mljet depart, with daily morning and afternoon departures from April to October.

Why most tours leave from Gruž

If you’ve arrived by cruise ship or you’re staying out in Lapad, Gruž is almost certainly your closest departure point. The harbour is wide and sheltered, so boarding is calm and dry even when there’s a breeze out at sea, and there’s a real buzz to the place first thing — the morning market, the coffee stands and the ships coming and going.

From here it’s a short hop out to the Elaphiti Islands and the Blue Cave, which is exactly why we run our most popular departures from Gruž. Full-day trips to Mljet National Park also leave from here, as the open run southwest is quicker from this side of the peninsula.

Getting to the meeting point

Gruž sits on the city bus network — lines 1a, 1b and 3 all stop nearby — and a taxi from the Old Town takes about ten minutes. If you’re driving, there are public car parks along the waterfront; aim to arrive 15 minutes before departure so there’s no rush. Prefer to leave right under the city walls instead? See boat tours from the Old Town Port.

When you book, we send the precise meeting spot, a map pin and your skipper’s name, so the morning is completely stress-free. Check departures and book your seats.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get to Gruž Harbour from the Old Town?

It's about 10 minutes by taxi or local bus (lines 1a, 1b or 3) from Pile Gate to Gruž. We send the exact meeting point and a map pin with your booking confirmation so you can't miss it.

Can cruise passengers make a tour from Gruž?

Yes — the cruise terminal is a five-minute walk from where our boats leave, so a half-day Blue Cave & Elaphiti tour fits comfortably into a day in port. Tell us your ship and we'll match a departure to your time ashore.

Is there parking at Gruž?

There are public car parks along the Gruž waterfront within a short walk of the meeting point. Spaces are easier to find early in the morning during peak season (July–August).
