Dubrovnik Sunset Cruise
The gentlest, most romantic two hours on the water — golden light on the city walls, a loop around Lokrum and a welcome drink in your hand as the sun goes down.
The Dubrovnik Sunset Cruise is a two-hour shared boat trip that leaves in the evening, cruises past the floodlit Walls of Dubrovnik and loops around Lokrum island as the sun sets over the Adriatic. Groups are capped at 12 guests, a welcome drink is included, and the price is fixed per person from April to October.
What you'll see and do
- Golden-hour light on the Walls of Dubrovnik from the sea
- A slow loop around the green island of Lokrum
- A welcome drink poured as the sun drops to the horizon
- Calm evening water and an unhurried two-hour pace
- Small group of 12 — space to sit, sip and take photos
- Perfect for couples, families and easy celebrations
The easiest beautiful thing to do in Dubrovnik
Some evenings the city does all the work for you. As the sun drops, the limestone of the Walls of Dubrovnik turns from white to honey to deep gold, and the best seat in the house is out on the water looking back at it. That is the whole idea of this cruise — two unhurried hours, a drink in your hand, and a view of Dubrovnik that most visitors never get.
We keep it small and relaxed. There is no rushing between snorkel stops and no schedule to chase; you simply settle onto the boat with your welcome drink, and your skipper points the bow towards the light. By the time you round Lokrum, the sun is sitting on the horizon and the whole sky is doing something worth photographing.
What the evening looks like
You board at the Old Town Port or Gruž in the early evening and slide out along the foot of the city walls while the stone is still glowing. From there it’s a slow loop around the green, wooded shore of Lokrum island, with the open Adriatic — and the setting sun — off to seaward. As the light fades, we turn back towards the harbour and you arrive just as Dubrovnik switches on its floodlights and the walls light up against the dark.
Because the group is capped at twelve, there is room to move around, swap sides for the best angle and actually talk to your skipper, who knows exactly where the sun will land each evening and times the route around it.
Who the sunset cruise is for
This is the trip for people who want the scenery without the swimming — couples after a quiet, romantic hour, families with younger children, and anyone who’d rather toast the day than dive into it. The evening sea off Dubrovnik is usually glassy and calm, so it suits nervous boaters and grandparents just as well as it does honeymooners.
If you’re marking something special — a proposal, an anniversary, a birthday — take a look at a private sunset charter instead. The whole boat is yours, you can bring your own bottle to celebrate with, and the skipper can quietly help with the moment.
Pairing it with the rest of your trip
A sunset cruise is the perfect bookend to an active day on the water. Many guests pair it with our half-day Blue Cave & Elaphiti tour earlier in the week — caves and snorkelling by morning, then golden light and a drink by evening. If you’re staying inside the walls, our boat tours from Dubrovnik Old Town all leave a short walk from your door.

Frequently asked questions
What time does the Dubrovnik sunset cruise leave?
Departure is timed to the sunset, so it shifts through the season — roughly 18:30 in spring and autumn and a little later in midsummer. We send the exact boarding time and meeting point with your confirmation, so you arrive at golden hour rather than waiting around.
Is the sunset cruise good for couples or a proposal?
Yes — it's our most romantic trip, with calm water, soft light and the floodlit walls behind you. For something just the two of you, or for a proposal or birthday, book a private sunset charter so the whole boat is yours and the skipper can help with the surprise.
Are children welcome on the evening cruise?
Absolutely. The pace is gentle and the sea is usually flat in the evening, so it suits families well. Children aged 4–11 travel at the reduced fare, infants under three go free, and we carry life jackets in every size.
What's included in the price?
Your fare covers the skipper, fuel and harbour fees, bottled water and one welcome drink per guest. Extra drinks, snacks and dinner aren't included, so plan to eat in the Old Town afterwards once you're back ashore.
